Hydrometeorological Institute of Montenegro - Department of Oceanography and hydrography has done in 2008 and 2009 "Project of batimetric and geodetic shooting of Plav lake", whose main task is development of "digital models of bottom of Plav lake and shore, on the basis of which relief will be determined and the volume of the lake basin. Based on the results obtained by these measurements and their comparison with the results of measurements done by the 1970, it was found that the trend of reduction in area and volume of Plav Lake continues.
