Memorandum on cooperation on environmental protection and sustainable development issues, between Environmental Protection Agency and regional ecological movement Bells was signed in ’’green salon’’ of the Hotel Montenegro in Podgorica on 2/7/2010.
In the name of Environmental Protection Agency, Memorandun was signed by the director Daliborka Pejovic, and in the name of regional ecological movement Bells, coordinator of the Bells movement for Montenegro Darko Pejovic.
The signatories of the Memorandum on cooperation, have jointly agreed to mutually support the implementation of project ’’Action and ecological cohesion of the Western Balkans’’, which aims to establish a strong and distinctive national and regional partnership network that will address environmental issues and so called ’’Green diplomacy’’ in order to strengthen the environmental sector initiatives and recognition of environmental problems among the main planning and development priorities in Montenegro and the region.
Darko Pejovic coordinator of the Bells movement for Montenegro has, after signing memorandum on cooperation, said that the issues of environment are not familiar with boundaries, and that the Environmental Protection Agency represents ‘’striking fist’’ in the implementation of that what is important for the environment. It can influence the most at the environment to be in a better state, together with sustainable economic usage, and he mentioned the establishing of the regional ecological academy, with an aim of education of those who deal with environmental protection issues.
By reminding that the next year is 20 years from declaration of Montenegro as the ecological state, the director of Environmental Protection Agency Daliborka Pejovic pointed out that now we must observe the results which Montenegrin society achieved in implementation of the policy in the area of environment and respecting international standards, but also agree on the future priorities, as well as that the cooperation with NGO sector represents the basis in solving the environmental problems.
