19 years from declaration of Montenegro as an ecological state

    By the adoption of the Declaration of ecological state, in Zabljak on 20th September 1991, Montenegro has become the first ecological state in the world. Mentioned document was represented at the UN Conference on environment and development, in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 and was included in documents of the Conference.

It is said in Declaration that by establishing the state relation with the nature, Montenegrin Assembly committed all generations to refer to nature as to the health source and inspiration for freedom, as well as to devote to its preservation in the name of their own survival and future descendants.

 

 

 Ministry of spatial planning and environment in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Agency and citizens association ’’Ozone’’ from Niksic, marked this day by showing documentary films on the nature of Montenegro in the bookstore ’’Karver’’, as well as by putting info stand in Hercegovacka Street and on Roman square. Promotional materials were given at the mentioned stands for children and poll on ecological awareness of the citizens of Podgorica, with special highlight on the issue from the area of Law on managing waste.

                           

 

The representatives of the Agency and citizens association ’’Ozone’’ visited the kindergarten ’’Sunce’’ on the same day- the first ecological kindergarten in Podgorica, established in 1992. On this occasion, educational picture books and green bags were given to the children and their teachers. Green bags were used with an aim of promoting bags of bio-degradable material and decreasing of the usage of plastic bags which pollute the environment.
