The Law

        Permit for import, export and transit of waste

   Article 69

 Import, transit and export of hazardous waste can be performed only if it is based on the permit, which the Agency issues on the request of a legal or physical person.

Import and transit of non-hazardous waste can be performed only if it is based on the permit, which the Agency issues on the request of a legal or physical person.

Along with the application for the issue of the permit from paragraph 1 of this Article, the documentation which follows shipment is also submitted, containing:

1. Report on waste characterization,

2. Evidence on the notification and permission of all countries through which waste is transported to a final destination,

3. The contract concluded between the importer and exporter,

4. Other evidence in compliance with the law

For the cross-border movement of waste, the applicant ensures relevant financial warrant and insurance policy, or other form of insurance in accordance with regulations of the country of import or transit, in the amount which is needed for expenses of waste treatment, as well as for potential recovery expenses in case of damage. Closer contents of the documentation, which is submitted along with the application for the issue of permits related to waste import, export and transit from paragraph 1 and 2, and the list of waste classification are set by regulations of a competent body of public administration.
